LEARNING PHILOSOPHY
I am fueled by my passion for education and believe that effective learning begins with an understanding of the diverse needs and abilities of an audience. Applying data, evidence-based practices, and the principles of backwards learning, I develop educational content and curricula that start with clear learning objectives, and then craft engaging instruction to achieve those objectives. I am anchored by my desire to be a leader, an innovator, a team-player, and a constant learner.
CURRENT WORK
In the summer of 2020, I established a program designed to build life skills for young adults with disabilities, which became the newest division at The IDEAL School of Manhattan. I created a learning environment that nurtures their unique abilities. Both in-person and remote learning proved to be spaces that were warm, welcoming, and that cultivated real growth. The program focuses on vocational training, life skills development, and social integration. As the program grew over the years, I saw the positive impacts on the lives of my students and their families, reinforcing my commitment to education and making meaningful differences in the lives of those with diverse abilities. Through this experience, I was able to demonstrate my project management skills, as well as showcase my leadership, nourish my collaborative spirit, and solidify my dedication to learning.
